This new LetsCheck feature of Fritz_13 will have a big unforeseen impact IF the chess world ever decides to try a second start position, such as S#549 RNBBKNQR (from FRC-chess960). LetsCheck will greatly accelerate the growth of opening systems and deeper variations for the new start position, with people around the planet all contributing to this central repository.

Or put it another way --- if this cloud feature had been available in 1475, the growth curve of opening systems for the traditional start position would have been absurdly different, even without the variation calculation and evalutation aspect of the associated computers. The ease of collaboration would have had a tremendous effect.

I'm wondering if anyone has installed this on Windows 8? My old programs seem to not work well with it.
