Hi all, as a confirmed e4 player I've been experimenting with the Trompowsky in email chess. A reliable alternative as white would be a good thing. While I'm happy to learn about a totally new opening, I wanted to keep down the theory by playing 1.d4 d5 2.Bg5 as well. How is this viewed ? From sources I've found, 2.Bg5 f6 seems to be the most difficult try but I'd like to make 3.c4 work. It seems right to attempt to "punish" the unnatural feel of f6. Any thoughts ?
