Post subject: Sicilian Defence Question about the Rauser variation
PostPosted: Sat Oct 24, 2009 1:03 am
I have some book on sicilian defence because it is my fav. opening again e4 but i see something special in a book they play the rauser var. and go in the "family of system with flexible e7 and d7(nadjorf and orthers like that)" and in a orther book they fianchetto Bishop on g7 like in the dragon variation what is the best way to play rauser.
First BOOK:
e4 c5
Cc3 d6
d4 c5xd4
Nxd4 Nf6
Nc3 Nc6
Bg5 Bd7
Qd2 Rc8
O-O-O Nxd4
Qxd4 Qa5
f4 Rxc3
(here book say that it is equal)

Second Book:
e4 c5
Nc3 d7
d4 dxd4
Nxd4 Nf6
Nc3 g6(here enter the fianchetto)
Be3 Bg7
f3 0-0
Qd2 Cc6
Bc4 Bd7
Bb3 Qa5
o-o-o Rc8
and here the books stop. what u think is better to play?

The second book is a plain dragon variation no rauzer, the first is just a classical sicilian.

Please pardon my necrolysing an extremely old thread, but it cropped up when I did a search for the Rauser variation in the Yugoslav attack of the Sicilian Dragon. I feel compelled to comment that …Qa5 no longer seems adequate, and that the mainline now runs Bb3 …Ne5.
