I kind of lurked around and waited for an answer to this one to see what people would say, because I knew my reply wouldn't be anything resembling what you wanted to hear. :D When I was an active tournament player, I purposely didn't review my opening database before an event. Over time I discovered...

The GUi is the same between Fritz and Deep Fritz, so you'll find the same features. The engines are different, as was previously posted. The Deep versions are a sort of "x.5" version (e.g. Deep Fritz 12 would be a "Fritz12.5") because there are changes made to the engine's algori...

Hi All I’ve recently been playing a CC game online and my opponent played a strange 9th move in the Sicilian Dragon (I was white). I'm not trying to be rude, so please don't take it that way. But you're essentially asking for a service that normally requires a fee to be provided for free. If you're successful, good on ya, but I rather doubt that anyone's going to jump right up and take you up on this. That's why some folks are ...

One possibility is to use a chessplaying program to set up the final position and let the chess engine analyze it. It can often point out why a game was drawn or what the winning move sequence would be.

That's a tough one. I did a web search on every halfway cool name I could think of ("_______ Chess") and they were all either registered trademarks or names of existing chess variants. Sooooooo, if it was me, I'd name it like you'd name a baby. Seriously. Look at the Winboard sites -- a lo...
