You can use Windows as a 'guest OS' in a Mac. Then any product that runs under W. will also run on your Mac. Google "Bootcamp" to see this feature.

An afterthought: You have G4, which may not support bootcamp? So, first update your mac to current mac-generation .....

In the same way: Superbishop (B+N) = Archbishop or Cardinal or Princess or Janus Superrook (R+N) = Chancellor or Emissary or Marshal As of the last count there are over 5500 fairy chess pieces and the number is growing daily. Well-known families of fairy piec...

Yes, the rook can castle if it's under attack. Basically, -the king can't be under attack -the square the king passes through mustn't be under attack or have a piece on it -the square the king lands on mustn't be under attack or have a piece on it -the square(s) the rook passes through mustn't have...

In the dawn of the Chess history in India the chess piece, we now know as a "bishop", was identified by the name "Pil", which means an (War) Elephant. When pieces themselves were manufactured by more utilitarian (and cheaper) way, the descriptive detail for a Pil were the two tus...

Mr Kemuri is right. 6...Qf6! is so strong counter that 5.Nxe5? can be considered falling into a tactical trap.
Instead simply playing 5.c3 Nc6 6.0-0 and possibly 7.d4 will leave white some initiative and central play for the pawn.
A Lesson: Never judge a position with it's positional aspects alone :(

As for the Evans, white should just pick up a center pawn (Nxe5) for the 'Evans' pawn (b4). He then has nasty threats against f7 and a possibility to get his center rolling with tempo (d4). Black's Bc5 and Nb4 are somewhat vulnerable and off-side. It is much better to take with Bxb4 (...or decline w...

Can I register now? Go ahead and register - but i think you already did :) I just knew it! When I said "Do not ask how many", somebody will do the math anyway ;). Well, in thruth I did calculate the the same myself - only slightly differently: You can place the first rook in 8x8=64 square...

My personal favourite: "How many rooks can you set on empty chessboard, so that no two of them occupies the same rank or file?" I just failed to register. Ouch! We do not want to be without a moderator. Now, since no-one failing the registration question can read this, I suppose it is ok ...

Not to mention all sorts of questions to answer en codes to confirm... Which raises an interesting point: What kind of password question to ask in order to reject Robos and non-chess spammers, but still allow interested people to register to a chess-site? Of course there is a risk that such questio...
